This series consists of reports, notes, transcripts, minutes, memoranda, announcements, brochures, correspondence, financial papers, invitations, and other records relating to Robert E. Peary's membership and association with various social and professional organizations. The organizations include the Aero Club of America, the American Geographical Society, the Peary Arctic Club, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Delta Kappa Epsilon, the Explorers Club, the Canadian Camp, the Bowdoin College Alumni Association, and the Washington Academy of Sciences. There are also written notes and speeches given by Robert E. Peary, such as reports to the Peary Arctic Club entitled “Field Work of the Peary Arctic Club 1898-1902" and “Report of R. E. Peary, C.E., U.S.N., on work done in the Arctic in 1898-1902” (1903), and “Plans and Programme for the Next Expedition of the Peary Arctic Club of New York,” ca. 1907-1908.

Robert Edwin Peary Sr. (born May 6, 1856, Cresson, Pennsylvania – died February 20, 1920, Washington, D.C.) was an American explorer and United States Navy officer who made several expeditions to the Arctic in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
